CHAIRMAN OF THE MEMBERS' COUNCIL
Mr. Avinash Satwalekar currently serves as the Chairman of the Members’ Council from July 2017. Prior to assuming this role, he was Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of VCBF from May 2012. He is Country Head-Malaysia & Chief Executive Office, Franklin Templeton Asset Management (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
Prior to joining VCBF, Mr. Satwalekar was a vice president, portfolio manager and research analyst for Franklin Portfolio Advisors (FPA), a division of FTPA. He was a member of the Franklin Small Cap Growth portfolio management team and was the lead manager for the private small cap accounts for FPA.
Previous to his role with FPA, Mr. Satwalekar was a vice president and research analyst for Franklin Equity Group. He specialized in research analysis of the computer software industries and IT service companies.
Mr. Satwalekar joined Franklin Templeton in 1996 as a management trainee working on Franklin Convertible Securities Fund. Prior to Franklin, he worked for DSP Merrill Lynch in the Debt Origination Group.
Mr. Satwalekar is also currently Country Head-Malaysia & Chief Executive Office, Franklin Templeton Asset Management (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
Mr. Satwalekar received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Bombay, India and a Masters of Business Administration degree in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder, and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco (CFASF).
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, MEMBER OF THE MEMBERS' COUNCIL
Mr. Vu Quang Dong currently serves as a Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Members’ Council of VCBF from July 2017. Mr. Dong joined Vietcombank in 2002. Before being appointed CEO of VCBF, Mr. Vu Quang Dong served as the Director of Vietcombank Securities Limited Company (“VCBS”) from 2012.
Mr. Dong holds a PhD in Financial Economics from Georgetown University, USA, Master of Economics from Georgetown University, USA, Master of Economics of the National Economics University in Hanoi and Bachelor of Economics of the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi.
MEMBER OF THE MEMBERS' COUNCIL
Mr. Bucaro has served as Member of the Members’ Council since June 2023.
He is currently the Head of Retail Asia for Franklin Templeton Capital Holdings. Prior to this posting, he was Chief Executive Officer Singapore at BNP Paribas Asset Management.
Mr. Bucaro holds a Master of Science in Investment Management degree from Cass Business School, UK.
VICE CHAIRWOMAN OF THE MEMBERS' COUNCIL
Ms. Doan Hong Nhung officially became the Vice Chairwoman of the Members’ Council of VCBF in April 2022.
Ms. Hong Nhung is currently the Head of Customer Policy and Retail Product Department at Vietcombank. With over 10 years of experience at Vietcombank, she has received numerous commendations for her outstanding achievements in her work
Ms. Hong Nhung holds a bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade from the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, specializing in international economics, and a Master's degree in International Economic Relations from the University of Konstanz, Germany.
CHIEF ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Mr. Bukart joined VCBF in April 2006 and is based in the Ho Chi Minh Office.
Mr. Burkart has spent much of his professional career in banking in Vietnam, and had worked primarily for the representative office of BHF-Bank, which was part of the ING Group from 1998 to 2004. He was elected to leading roles in the German and European Business Associations. Prior to moving to Vietnam, worked with BHF-Bank in Frankurt for the banks' emerging market business in South Asia.
Mr. Burkart holds a Master degree in Economics from the University of Bonn, Germany.
DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, MEMBER OF THE MEMBERS' COUNCIL
Mr. Tan joined VCBF in February 2016 and is based in the Hanoi Office.
Mr. Tan has worked for Vietcombank since 2001 and has held various positions in different Departments. Prior to joining VCBF, he had five years of working as Treasury management, and nine years as Deputy Director of the Investment Department managing Vietcombank’s investment portfolio.
Mr. Tan holds a Masters of Business Administration with honours from University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Banking & Finance of the National Economics University in Hanoi.
DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Mrs. Nga was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officier of VCBF on 1 March 2022, in charged of marketing and investment. Ms Nga is supervising VCBF’s investment team and responsible for all equity investments. She is also a member of the Investment Committee which approves all fixed income investments of VCBF’s funds and mandates. She has taken the Chief Investment Officer role of VCBF since July 2018.
She has been managing discretionary mandates for institutional investors since 2010, for which she devises the mandates’ investment strategies and asset allocations, and makes investment decisions for each portfolio based on the respective investment policy statement. In addition, Ms Nga has been a member of portfolio management team for all VCBF’s open-ended funds since VCBF launched its first open-ended fund in 2013. Before that, as the company’s head of research, she worked directly with analysts in research idea initiation, sector review, company valuation and investment recommendations.
Ms Nga joined VCBF in 2006 as an investment officer in private equity team. Before that, Ms Nga was with Deloitte Touche (Vietnam) for nearly five years as Senior Auditor and Senior Financial Advisor, in charge of and involved in audits and advisory assignments for foreign-invested companies in various industries and large state-own enterprises such as PetroVietnam and Electricity of Vietnam.
Ms Nga holds a Master of Commerce (Advanced) degree from the University of Queensland with two majors in Applied Finance and Professional Accounting. She also earned a Bachelor of Economics degree from the National Economics University with a major in Accounting and Auditing. Ms Nga is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
CO-CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Ms. Kim Anh joined VCBF in June 2006 as covering Beverage, Port and Logistics, Steel and Real Estate sectors. Since 2009, she has been responsible for all aspects of the investment process for the three institutional private equity funds as well as directing the activities of the Alternative Investment team.
Before joining VCBF, Ms. Kim Anh was a senior investment consultant with InvestConsult Group, a local investment consulting group, for six years.
Ms. Kim Anh holds a Master of Economics degree in Banking & Finance from a post-graduate program, jointly offered by ESCP-EAP and University of Paris Dauphine, a Bachelor of Applied Science, Property Economics degree from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
DEPUTY CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Mr. Vinh Nguyen currently serves as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at VCBF. Mr. Vinh Nguyen joined VCBF in 2008 as Investment Analyst in the Alternative Investment team. He then joined the Public Equity team in 2014 where he covered companies in various sectors such as Retail and Telecommunications. In 2015, he was promoted to Head of Research and Assistant Portfolio Manager.
Before VCBF, Mr. Vinh Nguyen was an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers Vietnam where he covered clients in the food and beverage and insurance sectors.
Mr. Vinh Nguyen earned his Master of Business Administration at the University of British Columbia. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholer and a fellow of the ACCA (UK).
HEAD OF RESEARCH
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh joined VCBF in 2013 as an Equity Research Analyst in the asset management team, covering shipping, construction materials & construction service, utilities, oil & gas. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh was promoted to Associate Research Manager in August 2018 and has been serving as an acting Head of Research, supervising works of the Research Team since then. In July 2019, Mr. Linh officially became Head of Research.
Prior to joining VCBF, Mr. Linh worked for Sacombank in one year as a Credit Officer, responsible for the credit analysis in the sectors of industrial manufacturing.
Mr. Linh holds a Master of Science degree in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, UK, and a Bachelor degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Economics, Vietnam. He passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 2 examination in June 2013.
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Mr. Nhan joined VCBF in April 2016 as an Equity Research Analyst, covering Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Aviation and Real Estate. He was promoted to Associate Research Manager in August 2018 and has been assisting Portfolio Managers to manage discretionary equity investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals since then. He became Portfolio Manager since August 2019.
Before joining VCBF, Mr. Nhan had three years’ experience as Senior Analyst with VN Direct Securities Company and Analyst for FPT Securities Company. He was responsible for companies in the industries of Food and Beverage, Aviation and Garment.
Mr. Nhan holds Master of Finance degree from the La Trobe University, Australia, where he earned the Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence as Best Postgraduate in 2012, and Bachelor of Finance & Banking degree from the University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City, where he was awarded Exemplary Student.
Mr. Duy Anh joined VCBF in March 2016 as an Equity Research Analyst, covering Logistics, Agriculture, Banking and Insurance. He was promoted to Associate Research Manager in August 2018 and has been assisting the Chief Investment Officer to manage discretionary equity investment portfolios for institutional clients since then. He became Portfolio Manager in July 2020.
Before joining VCBF, Mr. Duy Anh had more than three years’ experience as Senior Analyst with VN Direct Securities Company, covering companies in the industries of Agriculture, Securities brokerage, Real estate and Oil & gas.
Mr. Duy Anh holds a Masters degree in International Financial Analysis of the Faculty of Banking, Finance and Audit of the University Lille 2, France, and a Bachelors degree in Economic Administration degree from the University of Lyon 2, France. Mr. Duy Anh is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
