Vietcombank Fund Management

Vietcombank Fund Management Company Limited ("VCBF") is a joint venture between Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (“Vietcombank”) and Franklin Templeton Investments. Vietcombank is Vietnam’s leading financial institution and Franklin Templeton Investments is an internationally recognized investment firm and a pioneer in emerging market investments.

VCBF offers access to a range of investment opportunities in Vietnam. The institutional private equity business intends to launch a new fund shortly. VCBF’s asset management services are currently focused on separately managed accounts for institutions and high net worth clients and managed four open-ended funds including VCBF Tactical Balanced Fund, VCBF Blue Chip Fund, VCBF Fixed Income Fund and VCBF Midcap Growth Fund. Total assets under management as of 31 March 2022 amounted to over US$190.3 million.

VCBF has assembled a management and investment team with many years of experience in local and international finance. Our strong relationships with local companies provide value to investors through in-depth knowledge of our targeted investee businesses and are of significant importance in the assessment and sourcing of attractive investments.

VCBF was established under the license No 06/UBCK-GPHÐQLQ issued on 2nd December 2005 by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. Franklin Templeton became VCBF’s foreign partner in February 2008.

VCBF’s private equity funds and discretionary mandates are amongst the best performing in Vietnam.

Vietcombank holds a 51% stake in VCBF and is widely regarded as Vietnam’s premier banking institution due to its broad capabilities and the central role it plays in Vietnam’s banking sector. With employees in over 30 countries, the California-based company has more than 74 years of investment experience and US$1,530.1 billion in assets under management, as of 30 September 2021.
 
FTI has over 80 offshore funds, of which 17 funds received a 4-Star Overall Morningstar RatingTM, and 5 funds received a 5-Star Overall Morningstar RatingTM, as of 31 December 2020.
 
The multi-manager structure allows FTI to offer specialized expertise across key asset classes and investment styles, supported by a single global platform. As a result, FTI offers investors the opportunity for true diversification and “the expertise of many with the strength of one”.
 
FTI has a strong presence in Asia and was one of the earliest foreign fund investors in Vietnam. FTI launched its Templeton Vietnam Opportunities Fund, Inc., a closed end fund listed on the New York Stock Exchange in the mid-1990s. FTI became the joint-venture partner with VCB in VCBF in 2008.
