In the Q1 of 2010, the non-cash payment accounted for 85 percent of total payment turnover via banks, in which the electronic payment occupied over 60 percent, State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) reported.

Bank cards become more popular with over 22 million issued cards of 47 payment service providers. Of which debit cards made up 96.76 percent, credit cards 1.59 percent, pre-paid cards 1.65 percent.

Vietnam now has more than 9,000 ATMs and 35,000 POS.
