Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) has recently announced that in 2010, the coal industry will explore resources of the coal basin in the Red River Delta, and exploit in 2015.

Red River coal basin with total reserve of 210 billion tonnes on a site of 3,500 square metres is determined to have good quality and valuable for sectors of steel, thermo power, cement, chemicals.As planned, Vinacomin will exploit about 65 billion tonnes.
